Pink Heals Tour - East Beach, Norfolk (12:00)

The pink fire trucks will be visiting the Tidewater area once again.  This year Virginia Beach has partnered with Norfolk to grow the tour and therefore the site will be the 9500 block of Shore Drive at East Beach/Oceanview.  The trucks will arrive at 12:30 time so we are asking everyone to arrive by noon to welcome them in.

The purpose of Pink Heals is to raise awareness and fundraise for women’s health issues including breast cancer.  At this year’s event we will have live entertainment by Grant Austin Taylor, Lewis McGehee, the mobile mammogram unit (you must schedule appointments ahead of time), the blood mobile, an art show, an old car show, proclamations from local government officials, a bra decorating contest, a silent auction, a games and play area for children of all ages, and a photo opportunity where we will display pictures of survivors and those who lost their battle with all types of cancer.

There will be food vendors and tents selling all types of pink items.  Hair stylists will be on hand to add pink extensions to your hair and Susan G. Komen and Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater will be providing information on site.  Both the Norfolk and the Virginia Beach Fire departments are selling pink fire department t shirts to raise money prior to the event.  Information about prior fundraisers (like the tropical smoothie day on August 28^th) and t shirt sales can be found on our facebook page at Tidewater VA area-guardians of the ribbon

All proceeds will go to local charities including the Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater, a group that helps families battling cancer with meals during chemotherapy treatments, medical bills, transportation and generally anything that falls through the cracks and is not covered by medical insurance or other resources.

Pre-Registration is REQUIRED for all sites - NO EXCEPTIONS
Registration deadline is 10 days before test date.

Candidates at consolidated test sites are no longer permitted to bring any electronic devices onto the premises - they must be left in their vehicles or at home.  Anyone who thinks they may have a personal emergency may be directed to call the CTS coordinator or his/her designee, at the Regional Council's discretion.  Evaluators and CTS staff members are not affected by this directive at this time.
