Regional Disaster Response Equipment
Since its inception in 1999, HRMMRS has used federal, state, and private grants along with appropriated funds to purchase and maintain a variety of disaster response equipment for the Hampton Roads region.
About Our Regional Disaster Response Equipment
The HRMMRS currently provides financial and logistic support to maintain the 12 Disaster Medical Support Units (DMSUs), 10 Mass Casualty Incident Buses, 13 Shelter Support Units (SSUs), 10 Medical Rapid Access Transport Units (MRATs), 2 Bariatric Support Units (BSUs), and the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Strike Team (HRMMST) communications and consumable medical supplies and materials cache.
