MedStat off-road ambulances feature a fully enclosed, all-aluminum patient compartment that secures a full-sized stretcher and seating for up to two attendants and a driver. Using HRMMRS grant funds, 10 MRATs have been deployed across the Hampton Roads region.

Each jurisdiction has accepted the MRATs and agreed to make them available to support the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System.
Emergency response and planned events
MRATs can be used in emergency situations in areas inaccessible to a full-size ambulance — or deployed to pre-planned special events, festivals, parades, and concerts across the region.
