Beyond STEMI - Understanding Occlusions and Myocardial Infarction

This session  challenges the traditional STEMI/NSTEMI framework by introducing the  Occlusion Myocardial Infarction (OMI) paradigm. Participants will learn how  acute coronary occlusions can exist without classic ST-elevation and how  subtle ECG patterns, combined with clinical context, can improve early  recognition, triage, and advocacy for timely reperfusion—especially in the  prehospital setting.
