Overview
The number of US residents who are over 40 years old has doubled in the last forty years. About 30% of the patients we see in emergency care are geriatric patients. Join us as we discuss some unique considerations for this specialty population Course Objectives:
At the completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
• List three airway changes in the geriatric patient that predisposes them to aspiration
• Identify two cardiovascular changes that make assessing perfusion in the elderly population difficult
