Overview

Death and dying are unfortunately a part of the job in EMS. Even though it is probably one of the most important areas providers deal with, it is the least discussed on how to handle it. This course will discuss situations in which providers will have to make tough decisions of whether or not to perform CPR, how to manage the emotions that come with that both from the family's perspective and the providers, and how to break the news that a loved one has died. This course will also discuss the emotions of line of duty and member of services deaths and the impact they have.
