Response to Clandestine Labs

This educational delivery will involve a thorough breakdown of the emerging threats that first responders encounter with operational responses to clandestine labs in our communities.  This is BOI will prepare the responder with the necessary awareness level knowledge to recognize the threat and operate accordingly.  Responder safety will be the primary focus of this delivery

Delivery Objectives:

Upon completion of this block of instructions, the participant will be able to understand and/or recognize the following:

1. Clandestine Lab defined and the different categories

2. The hazards associated with all Labs

3. The need for Special Response Services and Law Enforcement

4. Medical care of patients involved

5. The importance of solid operational decision-making, open and closed loop communication and teamwork

6. Community outreach

7. Responder readiness, training and building relationships with Mutual Aid agencies

8. The importance of on scene incident management
