VA Tox Medic Review Pt 1

The Tidewater Region  has one of the most robust and comprehensive Tox Medic protocol in the  country. When faced with these types of incidents, providers turn to these  protocols to manage the "uncommon" patients. Medications used as  antidotes range from those used in every day practice, to those that are  infrequently used. This presentation will serve as a refresher or review of  the current Tidewater HazMat protocols. We will discuss background  pathophysiology of the toxidromes included. In addition to this, we will  review medications used as antidotes - the how and why behind the medicine.
