Overview

From rattlesnakes to jellyfish, venomous encounters can happen anywhere — from the backcountry to the backyard. This session provides a practical approach to identifying, assessing, and treating bites and stings in the field. Participants will learn to recognize high-risk envenomation, apply evidence-based first-aid and stabilization measures, and determine appropriate evacuation and hospital referral timing. Emphasis will be placed on real-world, field-adapted management strategies that balance patient care with environmental and logistical challenges.
