Overview

The Tidewater Healthcare Expo – Mid‑Atlantic MIH/CP Summit brings together leaders, innovators, and frontline practitioners shaping the future of Mobile Integrated Healthcare and Community Paramedicine across Virginia and the Mid‑Atlantic region. Among the distinguished presenters is Theresa Soska, Grants Manager for the Virginia Beach Police Department, who contributes expertise in funding strategies that support community‑focused public safety initiatives and interagency partnerships.  Also featured is Melissa Padulsky, a long‑serving EMT, safety educator, and owner of Little Hearts Big World, recognized for her extensive instructional background in CPR, first aid, and EMS education, as well as her innovative efforts in community‑based training.  Speakers from the Wintergreen Fire & Rescue Community Paramedicine Program, including Bob Richey and Betsy Smith, represent one of Virginia’s growing rural MIH models supported by Sentara Cares grants; their program emphasizes chronic disease support, home‑based assessments, and reducing preventable 911 utilization in Nelson County.

Further enriching the program is Seth Craig, BS, MS, NREMT‑P, EMS Program Director at Rappahannock Community College, whose leadership spans paramedic pathway development, wilderness and critical‑care education, and regional EMS training innovation. Lisa Walker of the James City County Fire Department brings deep experience in community health case management through the CONECT mobile integrated health program, supporting older adults and high‑risk residents with chronic disease education, fall‑prevention initiatives, and resource navigation.  Nationally recognized infection‑control expert Katherine West, RN, BSN, MSEd, DICO‑C, adds vital insight into emerging concepts in infectious disease management within EMS, drawing from decades of authorship, teaching, and consultation.  Rounding out the speaker lineup is Teri Reeder, a veteran Virginia Beach EMS paramedic and long‑time educator active in regional CIT and integrated behavioral‑health collaborations.
