Overview

This course covers the unique and advanced considerations involved in the assessment, triage, treatment, and transport of burn patients across diverse populations and settings. Participants will learn to recognize and manage special considerations such as pediatric and elderly populations, chemical and electrical burn, inhalation injuries, and pre-existing medical conditions. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based protocols, airway management, fluid resuscitation principles, wound care, pain management, and infection prevention. By the end of the course, responders will be equipped to make rapid, informed decisions in the field and coordinate with burn centers for optimal patient outcomes.
