John Croushorn
Dr. John Croushorn is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, inventor, and educator with extensive experience in trauma care and innovation. As the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Compression Works, Inc, he developed the Abdominal Aortic and Junctional Tourniquet (AAJT), a life-saving device that has transformed hemorrhage control in military and civilian prehospital care. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Croushorn has held leadership roles, including President of the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and serves as a faculty member mentoring future emergency physicians. His dedication to advancing trauma care and education continues to impact patient outcomes and the broader field of emergency medicine. Dr. Croushorn served as command surgeon for Task Force 185 in Iraq and as a lead physician during Hurricane Katrina, providing critical care under austere conditions.
