The Region 7 EMS Council Trauma Triage Committee is responsible for the effective identification, analysis and correction of system issues related to trauma triage and inter-hospital transfer within the Tidewater region with a goal of no preventable trauma deaths. This requires an objective review by qualified, appropriate representatives of EMS, trauma and hospital programs within the Region 7 EMS Council Region, protected by a process which ensures patient confidentiality. The Committee is responsible for the Region 7 EMS Council Regional Trauma Triage Plan and works with the State EMS Advisory Board’s Trauma System Committees to coordinate trauma care education and training consistently throughout the region.
